Melissa’s Clinical Journey

Melissa Sanchez began her career in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2003 as a behavior therapist. Within just a few months, she knew she had found the work she wanted to dedicate her life to: supporting children and families in meaningful, lasting ways.

Her career began in Weston, Florida, while she studied psychology and worked directly with children with autism and other developmental differences. She later continued her professional journey in Nashville, Tennessee, where she expanded her clinical experience and deepened her understanding of behavior, learning, and family-centered care.

Melissa earned her Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2018 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2019 after relocating to Georgia.

Throughout her career, Melissa developed a strong interest in naturalistic teaching, meaningful skill development, and clinician training. She believes effective ABA should extend beyond completing programs or meeting data targets. Each skill should have a purpose and contribute to a child’s ability to communicate, participate in daily life, build relationships, and become increasingly independent.

She is also deeply committed to clinician development and believes high-quality care begins with professionals who are well trained, supported, and encouraged to think critically about the impact of their work.
